As a CRA, how do you support an overworked CRC without taking over their job?

Start by asking what is late and what is blocking it, not by listing findings. Then do the one thing only you can do: get the sponsor to answer the open query, push the budget amendment, or extend the window. Bring the visit letter early so there are no surprises. A coordinator who trusts you will tell you about problems before they become findings.
