Privacy policy

Effective October 13, 2026

Trial City is a Kirabi product, operated by YANA Careers, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Trial City preview at trialcity.app collects, why, and what you can do about it. You can walk around the city without giving us anything. We collect information only when you claim a place, vote, or send us a company request.

What we collect

When you claim a place:

• Your display name or handle
• Your email address
• Your function in clinical research
• The type of organisation you work for
• Your home city and country
• How often you travel for work
• If you choose to add them: your next two trips, by city and month, and whether you would host a dinner
• The referral code of the person whose link you used, if any

When you vote: your answer to the question of the day, linked to your place.

When a company asks for a building: the company name, type and website, and the contact person's name, email and note.

Automatically: a token stored in your browser so the site recognises your place on that device, and connection information such as your IP address, which we use to limit spam and abuse. We do not use advertising trackers.

What other people can see

Your display name, function, city and founding resident number can be shown publicly, for example on your resident card. Your email address is never shown. Totals, such as how many residents a city has, are public.

How we use it

• To hold your place and give you a resident number
• To show city and function totals, and decide which cities open first
• To email you about your place, the opening of your city, and the launch of Trial City
• To send your card link when you ask for it
• To keep the site secure and free of spam

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or employers.

Who processes it for us

We use service providers to run the site: Lovable and Supabase for hosting and the database, and an email delivery service to send email. They may process your information in the United States and in other countries where they operate, and only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you hold a place. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days. Connection information used to limit abuse is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop emailing you. Write to rudy@boraka.co. Every update email we send has an unsubscribe link.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on your consent to hold your place and email you, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Who can use Trial City

Trial City is for adults. You must be 18 or older to claim a place.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email residents before the change takes effect. This policy covers the preview. A fuller policy will replace it when messaging, trips and meetups open.
