Trial City

News

News collects updates from official sources and keeps the ones that matter to people who run and support clinical trials.

  • FDA press announcements (US)
  • FDA: What's New, Drugs (US)
  • Federal Register: FDA documents on clinical trials (US)

How items are sorted

Every few hours we read the public feeds of these sources. An AI service scores each new item for how much it matters to clinical research work and tags it with topics and the functions it affects. Standing pages, routine notices and items outside trials are kept out of the list. Old items are never shown as new.

Summaries and Why it matters

For shown items we read the publisher's page and write a short summary in plain words: what happened, who issued it and who it applies to. Under it, a Why it matters line says what it can mean for day to day work. Summaries are tagged AI summary, and the Read at button always takes you to the original.

Topics and regions

Residents can choose the topics and regions they care about. The For you tab then puts those first, along with items people in your function are reading. A small dot in the header tells you when something new has arrived since your last visit.

Discussion

Every item has a discussion under the summary, starting with one question: how does this affect your work day to day? Residents can comment, mark comments helpful and report anything that breaks the rules. Visitors can read, residents can take part.

Comments follow the same rules as Ask the city: no patient details, nothing confidential about a study, sponsor or site, and no promotion. Reported comments are held until City Hall looks at them.

Where News shows up

The newest items also appear on the City News billboards around the map, so you can catch a headline while you look around. Tap a billboard to open the item. Items that match your function can also bring you to related reference cards from Ask the city.
